The air fryer renders the fat under the skin of a chicken wing and crisps it in about 25 minutes. Dry wings are the key; pat them well with paper towels.

Method

  1. Pat the wings very dry and toss with the salt.
  2. Air fry at 380°F for 20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway.
  3. Turn up to 400°F and cook 5 minutes more, until crisp and 165°F inside.
  4. Toss with melted butter if you like and serve.

Tips

Cook in two batches if the wings don't fit in a single layer; crowded wings steam instead of crisping.

Storage and reheating

Keeps 3 days in the fridge. Reheat in the air fryer at 380°F for 5 minutes.
